Isolated and forgotten – The life of refugees in the camp, Public lecture and discussion

Since March 2013 activists of the Network for Concrete Solidarity are visiting refugees in many isolation camps in Rheinland-Pfalz.

The refugees have to face a really worse situation there. Besides the very bad accomodation with up to 11 people sharing one room (cit. „They treat us like animals“) many refugees have to live in very isolated places with NO SHOP, NO BUS, NO SCHOOL, NO INTERNET and NO MEDICAL SUPPLY. They say about those isolation camps „This place is worse than prison“. For many refugees this means total deprivation and isolation. Very often they also have to face the arbitrary cut of money.

After a detailed description of the actual situation with examples from many regions of Rheinland-Pfalz we will show how one can get active and intervene and present projects intended to enable refugees more participation. We kindly want to invite the audience to attend our Anti-Isolation-Tour through the camps, that is always ongoing.

The lecture is also thought as a mobilization event for our demonstration against the discrimination of refugees on Saturday, December 13th at 1pm in Mannheim and  Ludwigshafen. More information about the demonstration can be found here: https://nks-net.org/demo-13-12-en/
